Fun times with Nanny and Grampy

Over the weekend we had a mini-vacation with Elliot's Nanny and Grampy. We met up halfway, in the great city of Akron, Ohio. Who knew there was such fun to be had in Akron?
We had a great picnic by the pool...

And lots of fun swimming...

And we found a fabulous homemade ice cream place (Rob has ice cream antenna and managed to find it just by driving around randomly). We went there two nights in a row.
On Sunday we went to the zoo! It's a really great zoo. Elliot loved the penguins.

And he was wild about going on the choo-choo train with Grampy. They sat in the front car and got to ring the bell.


It was no easy task to get him away from that train. Major tantrum. After lots of tissues and a good stint at the tractor playground, some sweets from Nanny finally eased the pain.

On the final night, Rob's parents offered to look after Elliot while Rob and I went out for an early birthday celebration dinner. We think this was the first time we'd been out on our own since Rob's birthday last December. Wow, we forgot how much fun it was! We had a fabulous time. Thanks, Mum and Dad, and thanks for a great weekend together!
