I had a doctor's appointment this morning, and walked out of it to find that the pounding rain had turned to snow. Yes, on October 28, we were having our first snow of the season. I had an hour's drive home through winding mountains covered with red and golden-leaved trees, and the soft snow falling in droves all around was magical.
I had woken up feeling miles better than I'd felt in days, and the snow made everything seem peaceful, like a sign that everything was going to be okay.
