Well, this is a first! I never imagined I'd get a hurricane for my birthday!
The plan was that I'd be running my first ever 5k on the beach today! But it turns out that today isn't a great day to go to the beach.
So instead we are spending the day battening down the hatches. We're putting away all the patio furniture, making sure everything is off the basement floor, and setting up the generator. Our cupboards are stocked and water bottles filled.
If you're in the path of this storm, too, I hope you stay safe and sound. We're praying this doesn't get quite as bad as they've predicted.
In any case, we'll be home, huddled together, clutching flashlights and munching birthday cake.
