thrown in at the deep end

Elliot has started playing soccer!

We had our first parents’ meeting/kids’ practice last Sunday, where  the kids played together for about half an hour. The coach asked for a volunteer to be assistant coach to do “simple things like fetch balls.” Guess who volunteered?

Rob!!

And then, not only did this week’s practice get rained out, but the head coach ended up having to coach another team at this morning’s game.

So not only was Elliot playing in his first ever soccer game with barely half an hour’s practice under his belt, but Rob was coaching the game!!

They both did an awesome job!!

It was a densely foggy morning.

Elliot was goalie during his time on the field. He got quite a bit of action and did a great job blocking the ball, even diving to catch it a couple of times.

What an awesome father-son duo.

Meanwhile, Sophie and I cheered them on from the sidelines.

(Look at that mischievous face. We are in such trouble.)

Way to go Elliot and Rob! So proud of this dynamic father son duo. Love the pictures; I love fog. And Miss Sophie is as precious as ever.
