Chocolate, Strawberries, and Sparkly Surprises

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had such a yummy breakfast this morning.

We had sausages and crepes with bananas, strawberries, and nutella. And decadent hot chocolate. You can't go wrong when strawberries and chocolate are involved.

Elliot especially enjoyed the chocolate.

Rob had pretended he only got Lori a card for Valentine's Day. But at the last minute he produced a beautiful pink crinkly package with this treasure inside.

A stunning jewelry box. All the way from India. He'd actually managed the willpower to conceal it for all this time since he's been home. Isn't it gorgeous? Perfect for storing those beautiful earrings he gave Lori earlier. Wow!

The fun continued in the afternoon, when Elliot (with a little help from mommy) made a pie for dinner. A chocolate and strawberry pie, of course!

Mmm. Looks yummy.
Better make sure.
Voila!

Rob made dinner. He's becoming quite the chef.

Chef Rob's Guide to Roasted Potatoes

First, peel and chop potatoes.

Boil them for about ten minutes.

Splash a whole glug of olive oil in a pan.

Coat the potatoes with the oil and bake in the oven for about 45 minutes.

Until they're lovely and brown. Ah, perfection.

Even after this day of decadence, Rob's surprises still weren't over. Lori was nearly knocked over when he handed her a small package. More presents?? Kind of made her feel bad about the small bottle of cologne she'd given him.

Her breath was taken away when she saw what it was. More jewelry! Absolutely stunning, dazzling, beautiful jewelry. The most beautiful jewelry she's ever had. This picture doesn't really do it justice. We'll have to take some closeups yet.

Wow. With all this beautiful jewelry, Lori's going to have to get some nicer clothes.
