After 2 weeks of being buried in boxes, we decided to get out and explore our new neighborhood. My friends, it seems we've landed in quite a charming place.
First stop, this lovely restaurant for some down-home pancakes and eggs. It looks all frilly on the outside, but inside it's just like the old Iron Skillet in my hometown.
Then we went driving.
I don't believe I've seen a "cow crossing" sign before. Lots of cows live near my hometown, but I'm pretty sure they're not left to roam across the roads.
Many signs like this one dot the area to identify historic sites.
We found a little country lane with several Americana farmsteads like this one.
We're definitely living in a beautiful part of the country.We ended up at our favorite farmer's market/animal farm. It's halfway between our new and old homes, and it's becoming a traditional stop for the first nice day of the year. Elliot played and played and played and played.
Tough work deserves a break.
Sophie patiently gurgled and cooed as Elliot tormented the goats and chickens and turkeys and bunnies and slid and swung and played on the train until we finally had to drag him away.
