DAD

Dad's birthday was on Saturday, so I'm tardy in my bloggy birthday wishes. Howeverly, we actually got to celebrate with him in person a week and a half ago!! What a rare privilege to have him with us on his birthday (or close enough)!

Elliot and Mom made him a cake.

It was a smiley face rainbow cake, with rainbow sprinkles inside and out. Groovy!

What a fun celebration we had. We feel so blessed to have Dad in our lives.

It's been a tough year for him, and about a month ago he scared us all when he woke with severe chest pains and was medevacked via helicopter for a suspected heart attack. Turns out he had several collapsed discs in his back, and the pain was so intense that it felt like it was coming from his chest. He's still in a lot of pain, and we felt a bit guilty and yet very grateful that he made the trip out to see us.

Dad, we all love you so much and wish you happiness and peace and joy in this coming year!
