bruce and pam

We were so happy to see our friends Bruce and Pam!

They live in St. Louis, but Rob met them when they were in London on a church missions trip way back in 1995. We’ve kept in touch with them ever since. They have hearts of gold. A good illustration: They went on vacation to England in 1998. We met up for dinner, and when they found out we were moving out of our London apartment the next day, they insisted on helping us. They gave up a day of their overseas vacation to help us move. Can you imagine?? Yep, they’ll be getting a few palaces in heaven for that one.

So anyway, when they emailed to say they were going to be in Pennsylvania for a few days, we hopped on over to see them at their hotel.

Somehow we ended up at a mini golf course.

Elliot has recently discovered this exciting sport, and we thought it’d be fun. It really didn’t seem that hot out – until we got all set up with our clubs and golf balls and walked out to the first hole. Seriously, by hole 2 I thought I was going to keel over.  We speed-golfed the entire course and then fled indoors for cold drinks.

But other than nearly having heat stroke, we had a marvelous time catching up. It’s always a joy to reconnect with dear souls like these two.
