Festivities began on Friday, with cupcakes and a crown at preschool! Such excitement!
On Saturday we headed into the big city to see a production of Snow White!
Sophie wore her Snow White dress, of course! (The kids were goofing off in the train station; I have no idea who these statues are of!)
The play was … interesting. Amateur would be a gracious way to put it. Well, what did we expect for $7.50 a ticket? The point was, Sophie loved it and was completely enthralled the whole way through!
It was fun to see the city decked out in Christmas lights. Love love love going to NYC at Christmastime. We made a little stop in Macy’s (Miracle on 34th Street), with it’s classic original wooden escalators and elevators.
Later in the evening, Rob was scheduled to introduce a Pink Floyd tribute band at his university, so we all went and watched a bit of it. Rob told a few anecdotes about his childhood in Cambridge, surrounded by the myth of Roger Waters and Sid Barrett. The tribute band was actually pretty good. So I think this qualifies as the kids’ first ever rock concert. I think they liked it!
And finally, today was the big day! Sophie is totally into Barbie these days, so she was super thrilled to receive several gorgeous new Barbie dolls – as well as …
a Barbie cake! Oh, the excitement!
We love our Sophie girl so much!
