Auntie Pam in Poole

We made our way to Poole, Dorset, to see Rob’s delightful Auntie Pam. We stopped at Bournemouth on the way, to play in the sea. Although we were there for just under an hour, the kids loved it.

Screams of shock as the ocean was freezing!

But I suppose you get used to it!

At the end of the pier were musical tubes. The kids enjoyed making pipe music.

The kids found some old Lego and got busy.

Rob remembers the rusting car on the left as long as he’s been alive. Pam said it’s been sitting there since 1978!

At the end we were joined with cousin Steve and his girlfriend Sarah.

The whole trip was a whirlwind visit, but we’re so glad we made it. At 87 she is still very sharp and witty and enormously engaging to talk with. We love her house too – most of it is unchanged from Rob’s childhood and he always gets super nostalgic when we’re here.
