Simon and Dara told us about a place they’ve been going to since they were dating. It’s a beautiful tea room at the edge of where two rivers come together – Watersmeet. They took us all there for a day out. They were definitely not overstating it when they said it was beautiful.
After driving up a perilously steep and narrow road to get here (oh my poor heart), we hiked down a ravine and across a bridge to reach the picturesque tea house.
A simply magical setting.
We had scones with Devonshire clotted cream (in Devon!) and strawberry jam. The warm sun was shining, everyone was happy – such a gift!
Grampy got an earful from Sophie’s piggy, purchased with her Beano Fund pocket money.
Not only was our destination stunningly beautiful, but so was the entire drive there and back.
We traveled through Exmoor National Park, full of breathtaking views of heather-covered rolling hills.
We also stopped in a little village that had a medieval bridge.
Strange to think this bridge has been standing here for so many hundreds of years. I wonder how many people have crossed it before us.
Another wonderful day with some wonderful people.

I have No Idea where Devon is, but, Watersmeet is sooooo going on the to do list :)
Looks like it was a magical day. Sure seeing a difference in the pictures compared to when we were there. Everything looks sunny and delightful.
