apple picking

It's apple-pickin' season! Elliot's preschool class had a field trip so we could all go out together, which was fantastic because this is just the sort of thing I've wanted to do for years and for some reason have never actually managed to accomplish. It was great fun!

There were rows upon rows of gorgeous apple trees packed with perfectly ripe fruit - and the branches grow really low to the ground, so all the kids could easily reach them.

Elliot filled his bag in about 60 seconds.

The super cool part of the trip, according to Elliot, was that we got to ride up to the trees on a trailer behind a tractor. (Elliot is seriously into tractors these days - ever since our trip to Pennsylvania, when Uncle Dean told Elliot Santa would bring him one. Elliot is now obsessed with tractors and Santa Claus and talks about both these things at length every day.)
It was an overcast day, but it was still so gorgeous out there.
Looks like we better get baking!
